ARCHIVAL QUALITY:
Fine Art prints are museum quality, made with archival materials and printing process. Black & White prints are made using an Epson 4000 ink jet printer and Piezotone archival pigmented inks on Innova Photo Smooth Cotton acid free museum grade paper. I use Gretag Macbeth's Eye-One spectrophotometer to profile my monitor, printer : ink/paper medium and Ergosoft's StudioPrint RIP to maximize image quality creating fine art prints with rich blacks and sharp highlights and smooth grey tone transitions in between.

DIGITAL MANIPULATION:
I am mainly an image "purest" and prefer to make minimal digital adjustments to an image doing so to achieve as realistic as possible a representation of what I saw and what was captured by my camera using traditional camera techniques to achieve a certain image look or feel. In the digital "darkroom" (I use Photoshop CS2 to process the images) I follow traditional photographic darkroom techniques of "burning," "dodging," and "vignette." Contrast and tone levels are adjusted for maximum visual impact without 'overworking' the image or creating an unnatural appearance.

CARE FOR YOUR PRINT:
Artwork, prints and originals, can be vulnerable to ultraviolet rays of the sun or other light sources that emit UV light, such as fluorescents. Prints should not be installed in or exposed to direct sunlight. Windows may be fitted with UV film or UV-filtering scrims to cut down on this type of damage. However, the best protection is to minimize the amount of exposure any print has to UV light. Close window coverings and/or relocate prints to non UV affected spaces if they won’t be viewed for long periods of time. Prints should be professionally mounted and framed allowing adequate air circulation to prevent mildewing. Use lighting such as incandescent or low-UV Halogen to minimize UV damage. Halogen light bulbs produce a high amount of light when focused. Be sure to get light bulbs that have UV filters.
Another concern is heat which can cause discoloration. Prints will last their expected lifetime if installed in a room with moderate temperature near 70°. If possible, avoid hanging works on the same wall as a window where moisture damage can occur. High levels of humidity can also cause damage to your print. A consistent climate of moderate temperature and humidity is best. For this reason, even when leaving town for long periods, you should not completely turn off your air conditioning.
